A Day To Fly Poem by Macy (Nina) Dvirnak

A Day To Fly

If God gave me
A day to fly,
I'd spread my wings
With great glee,
And soar around the world
Would I.

I'd fly to China, Spain, Brazil.
And on to Africa,
Flying still.

From Puerterico,
To El Salvador.

'Tis good to be free
From the earthen floor.

From the Rocky Mountains,
To the river, Zaire.

Going so fast,
I'm racing myself there!

From Vietnamn,
Unto Berlin.

Into gravity,
I'd never give in!

But then again...

All alone would I be,
Away from home,
And family-

Since once started,
I couldn't stop.

A prisoner of the air
I'd be,
Locked away from humanity.

Way up there,
In the feilds of air-

No runs, no jumps,
Not even a hop.

Oh, sure Id fly
O'er every church steeple-

But unable to stop,
Way up high,
How would I,

Be able to Reach More People?
