A Crying Fool Poem by Jamie Ellen Christian

A Crying Fool

The rain falls
And suddenly I am not alone
Suddenly I feel at ease

The blue skies are wiped away
And my loneliness with them
The rain falls
Who is it really that is crying?

With not a soul
No one that can see
But the rain is falling
And it comforts me

The rain falls
And instantly alone no more
Instantly I have a friend

Who is this someone
That their tears fall with mine
Flooding our apprehension away
Making gray indifference, the shine

Ah, but a cloud that showers above
It cries with me
So am I loved?

The rain falls
And so I am not alone?

Around my feet
The cloud pours a pool
Yes I am alone
Standing in this rain
I am also a fool
