A Cry Of Help Poem by anna newman

A Cry Of Help

Rating: 5.0

I went in a hurry and left him behind
So scared to give in I blocked it out of my mind
Many a time had I done that before
Not yet another heartbreak, please, no more
I trapped all my feeling deep inside
For I knew what would happen if I let them run wild.

I couldn’t stand the pain of seeing him leave
A familiar sight, too many times to conceive
So I thought I could the sword
But it stabbed me right through
I just can’t get used to not being a two.

He’s probably got his steps forward all laid out
You see I’m only going backwards, there’s too many to count
I’ve regretted a few things I’ve done before
But not as much as this
This time it’s so much more.

I’ll remember that day for all time to come
And always make sure to bite my tongue
When angry feelings come up from locked doors
I’ll think for a moment and take a pause
To remember that day when I dare say
My only treasure slowly drifted away
It’ll come back to me then
And for my own morality’s sake
I’ll never again make the same mistake.

Well that concludes my cry of help
To bring your attention to this problem of mine
I have a close friend who I’m really quite fond of
The only thing is I don’t know where his thoughts lie
So let me rephrase my question more clearly
And inform you of what I am asking you really
For I am in confusion without the answer, so,
Do you still love me, I’d really like to know.
