A Creature Stirs Poem by Brian Kilpatrick

A Creature Stirs

A creature stirs gathering life
Deep within the forest deep within the night
Your sweet charms help bring him to life
At first he refuses but your draw him into the light
Where you bathe with him in the fog layered waters
Under the filtered moon deep into the night
And once you have washed away all of your sins
With the same water that gave the creature life
You retire at the first sign of sunlight
Wondering who brought who to life
