The devil comes
at night
when the old man drinks his rum
at night.

When the poison is consumed
a body's no longer sober
then the devil comes
only
at night.

The devil brings his ink
the devil brings his pen
then the devil comes
only
at night.

The devil comes with a pretty face
the devil comes with charming words
the devil comes with a pen,
hungry for your ink.

The contract with the devil
written with red ink
written in sharp pen
known also as a knife.

Sometimes called a
ripper
a reeper
a cutter
a bleeder...
and sometimes called
DEAD.
