A Conference On The Mars Poem by Udaya R. Tennakoon

A Conference On The Mars

Once a upon a time, there, human beings
Having met each other, addressed for social justice
An alien stood and started talking
They said "we don´t understand"

The Alien smiled

Voice recognition
Expression of interest
And eye contacts
Brought a chaos to the round table

One said "we are talking here liberal democracy"

The alien again smiled
Eyes glittered by tears, Heart wept by pain
Some of trying to realize, gazed at
Something has happened, or going to be happened

But one said "we are talking about human rights"

During the break -Participant murmured turning round eyes
They changed the channel, when the alien came to close
And they began nodding to smile
Humans promised and took down it to a paper
By saying good bye,
They hugged and left away the papers

Alien laughed
"We are talking here liberal democracy"
