A Closed Circle Poem by Aminath Neena

A Closed Circle

A fortress of iron
A place of ruin
A jail of some sort
where people sometimes fought
and rarely did they write
more ready to bite

Is it discrimination I wonder
Or pure envy perhaps meander
Little welcome for new siblings
More like chase them like weaklings
If one does well no comment
False praise for low quality grand

The closed circle of friends
Most others not worthy of comments
Biased attitude of ancient times
Grow up children and be adults
For one can surely see ones true face
from the mirror, regardless of race
