A Clever Endeavour Poem by Joyce Hemsley

A Clever Endeavour

Rating: 3.0

There's a beautiful nest liken to heaven
In the town of Exmouth in Devon...
Its name is The A La Ronde
Shining each morning at birdsong,
Nostalgic, historic, whatever the weather.
Two eighteenth century cousins ~
Mary and Jane ~ cast their spells and
designed this house of feather and shell.
It's no Linden Lea, but visitors agree
In sunshine or rain, it's a fantasy.

The A La Ronde, Summer Lane,
Covered in layers of feather
Was the clever endeavour of cousins,
Mary and Jane working together.

A cleverendeavor indeed! I enjoyed the prose! It reminded me of a visit to the English countryside I made in the early 70's.
