A Christian's Suicide Poem by Cati Walthall

A Christian's Suicide

I committed suicide
On Christmas day
decided I couldn't live the way I was living
Being so miserable in so many ways
Took my gun to my head
Said a prayer to him
Ended my life
With the words singing
'I can't go on on my own
Just no more I can do'
So I told the Lord to take my heart
and make it brand new
My gun was my bible
And I ended my old ways
Became A whole new person
In one single day
Sometimes the ghost of old me haunts me
but I have to remember she's dead
It's just the devil
Boy, he sure loves playing with my head

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
So this is like saying the suicide is a metaphor... The gun is the bible, the head is actually the heart, suicide is actually the ending of an old life becoming a brand new person.... but its like the writer killed her old self....
