A Chinese Radical Lv Poem by Morgan Michaels

A Chinese Radical Lv

Rating: 2.5

'Is that good for children- to enslave their little minds to such drudgery? Let them be children. Let them learn about religion.
Why, next, we'll be expecting them to be quiet and sit still. That seems like a dangerous trend'.

She laughed.

'Very. I think it is. Anything that taxes memory and stimulates useful perception is good for a child'.

'You mean, like video games'? , I said, beginning to see her point.

'I do not'.

Suddenly, she reminded me of someone, but I couldn't think who. But her remark seemed slightly seditious. We were on thin ice, here, so I changed the subject.

'Well, how do you write the word for love'?

'What kind', she laughed.'There are many kinds of love'.

'Oh, your basic, smelly, sweaty, greasy, down-to-earth love. You know'.

'I know what you mean'.

Laughing, she picked up a pen, made a few deft strokes on a napkin, and turned it around, for my benefit.

'Like that'.

Basically, the sketched figure looked like a cartwheel inside an orange crate.

Then, she smiled, and sat back.
