A Child's Love Poem by Brooke Audino

A Child's Love

Rating: 2.7

She was a mere child.
But learned the meaning of love in a day.
6 perhaps, the thought is incredibly wild,
that anyone would learn so fast this way.
At kindergarden it all began,
she saw him and knew he was a sports fan.
His Steelers jersey was dirty and ripped,
but she was going to be whipped.
You see, my firend, nuns don't want children to know of love,
only to know of the heaven above.
But he looked her way,
and they felt the same way.
She was a girly girl,
and that made his heart swirl.
He was a dirty boy,
and that made her want him like a brand new toy.
They held hands,
but even against the nuns brutal demands,
they never let go,
and always let their feelings show.
So when she came home from her first day of school,
her mom asked her 'Was there anything cool? '
All her daughter did was smile and laugh
knowing the skin on her calf,
was split.
She never let her mom know of it.
So my dear friend,
until we meet again,
keep this in mind...
If a child knows what love is
more than a pop quiz.
What does that mean to you,
when sometimes that child can't even spell Love...
Think About It
