A Child's Dreams Poem by Elena Sandu

A Child's Dreams

Rating: 5.0

Once upon a time
there was a little girl
who loved to swim.
Meanwhile, she also had
'the flying dream'.
One day she followed
a friend from
her neighbourhood
to 'Neptun'
(those times)
the city's only pool.
She changed into
a swimsuit
then entered the world
of all life's root.
The sound of water
different air
as well known world
from deeply inside
her heart she felt.
Looking up, exclaimed:
'There she is! '
Her friend
5 meters high above
spreading her arms
and wow she jumped!
Fly, sway, tumble,
straighten the body with
greatest speed
enters the water
by firmly planting
both of her feet
just like a farmer
planting seeds!
Up she came, sniffing
and shaking off
the water drops
'-A! Here you are
bad jump, you see
but next time
I will get it right,
watch me!
My coach is there
go talk to him'.
Getting ready to fly again
run back to the stairs
after pointing at the giant man.
Little girl froze:
that man was really, really tall.
'-What do you want? ' He said,
his voice (maybe a little strong) .
The little girl lost control
gazing at him
open the mouth
but couldn't say one word!
inside her head, she screamed:
I want to fly! I want to dive!
I dream of having here
of my entire life,
the greatest time!
Unfortunately no word
nothing
could be heard..
fearful and ashamed,
her eyes with tears filled
she run away.. Alone
her sobs were heard
by none..
The little girl
a grown woman now
forgot that dream
but could you know
she might become
a dolphin, bird or tree
If a next life shall be,
till then, all she may keep
hopefully
are dolphin smiles..
Oh! and her friend?
Cristina! ?
Yes! Of course,
she got
her jumps right
even became
champion more than once,
and that was such
long time ago.

Hi Elena, A poem on the hesitation everybody has, entering a new venture. Those who overcome fear, take the next step. The sanskrit mantra, it says, Abhhirabhi: - shed your fear! Your poem spreads positive energy just like the mantra.10.
