A Child Of Hiroshima (Written For A School Asignment In 1992) Poem by Lil Sutton

A Child Of Hiroshima (Written For A School Asignment In 1992)

The tears run down a young childs face.
He has lost his mother and his home.
A little boy lost and scared in this dreaded place.
The dead and dying surround him.
He is all alone.

He finds some survivors who are too busy to help a small child.
Walking down back streets where he has never been.
He remembers his mum caring smile.
Seeing the imjured calling forhelp is not a thing that an innocent child should have seen.

Will his tears ever cease?
Bells in the distance start ringing.
Will he ever know the meaning of peace?
Is it possible he will hear another bird sing?

His feet are blistered and his clothes are torn.
Will another generation be born?
Worn out he falls to the ground.
Will he be left like hundreds of others or will he be found?
