A Child No More Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Child No More

Jesus is not; in a manger
Nor still nailed to a tree
But perfect life’s re-arranger
Setting fooled captives free

Christ’s not a buddy pal or mate
Though help; He’ll truly be
Who’ll seek life’s Way, life’s Truth, Life’s Gate
Leading to victory

As one, combined, He vows to stand
Today, forever more
To live life in The Promised Land
That God His Father swore

Christ is not on the cross today
Nor in an unmarked grave
He’s seeking Heaven’s sheep astray
Their precious souls to save

Through selfishness, still perishing
Instead of living wise
Hell’s walking dead, keep nourishing
Lambs on demonic lies

Christ is not a child anymore
Almighty; is His Name
Opening sinners, Heaven’s Door
Cancelling debts of shame

Jesus is God, consuming fire
God’s voice, life’s living Tree
Life’s deepest depth, leading higher
Both you my friend and me

Commit yourself to life’s romance
Believe in Heaven’s plan
Today give Jesus Christ a chance
To prove He’s more than man…..
