A Cat In The Night Poem by Kaitlyn Leighsomething

A Cat In The Night

Underneath the black of the night
The eyes of a cat shone through the window like a light
There lies an old man in his bed
Awaiting his turn to be dead
He feels the chill of death
His wife standing there holding his hand
As her husband slipped into a nother land
Her tears have all been shed now
She's said her last goodbye
This soul's been blessed
As he's laid to rest
And it's now she feels alone
He may be gone,
But memories linger on
Now that cat
Jumped down after the sight of dawn
And made his way on home.
