A Broken Life Poem by Jarrod Blackman

A Broken Life

Love lives on the edge of life
when love is broken, it's hard to suffice

Took that corner way too fast
now my mind is stuck in the past
Life is so fragile
I'm the opposite of agile
Wanting for 25 hours of the day is how I roll
accepting life I cannot spell
I am afraid to see tomorrow today
I close my eyes and desperately pray
When will I wake up from depression
to face this place with acceptance

How love lives on the edge of life

My memory is my biggest downfall
my mind needs an overhaul
I'm broken, stuck and lost in the thorns
its time to grab the bull by the horns
Fighting voices in my head
I sometimes feel lost amongst the dead
keeping the fight when you can't spell hope
forcing my mind to cope

The chains of disability are holding me
what must I do, to be set free
Tears of my broken heart run over the waterfall of my soul
what has happened to my original
