A Brighter Day Poem by tawanda mutukwa

A Brighter Day

each day has its sunrise and sunset
the victories and the losses and yet
our souls are left void
voices that are screaming to be heard

All this time there is a brighter day coming
when the light will be shining
and there is no ceasing to the silver lining

A brand new day will come
just as we are drowning
and the seas of misery are swirling
somewhere the trumpet will blare
and from the deep dark grey clouds
the light will burst forth announcing a brand new day

If the heart indeed is troubled
and the signs indeed echo the word 'discouraged'
take heed, because he promised a brand new, brighter
day is looming on the horizon
