A Boomerang Poem by Asif Andalib

A Boomerang

Rating: 4.8

I threw a boomerang to hurt you
It returned to me and hurt me too
Now I want you in my life again
But now my efforts are all in vain

Now I repent what I did
Now I repent for my greed

I dumped you like old garbage
Now I want back those old days

You could fill my life with joy
But I was not a good boy

I trapped you to fall in love
I made your path rough and tough

Now I make out how you felt
Now love makes my hard heart melt

One needs to be very careful with that boomerang, even in your poetry.

A poem of self assessment that shows the getting of wisdom through self deprecating honesty.

A rather visual description of the harm we sometimes bring into our relationships.
