A blue bird sings on Songs of sorrow pouring notes Of pain into hearts. A lugubrious note prevails the powerful haiku.

You said so much in only fourteen words. I always thought bluebirds represented happiness. There are two sides to everything- good and bad. I guess even bluebirds express sadness.

You express a genuine depth of feeling in this tiny poem. The blue bird could symbolize either happiness or unhappiness. But here I feel it symbolizes possibility, because once its song is internalized in a human psyche, there will be an alchemical transformation of sadness into joy. What matters is that there is an abundance of genuine emotion in our hearts so that the stimulus of the blue bird's song can release the positive energy.

I long for the song of the blue bird...especially as spring comes all too slowly. I invite you to read my new poem, Picket Line Of Birds Protesting, as your write spoke to my soul. PEACE
