A Birthday Wish
I am here staring at my calendar
My birthday is not quiet so far
Next month I'll be another year older
Another birthday without you here
Last year, as I blowed my candles
My wish was to hold you and feel your embrace
This year, I'll be having the same wish to whisper
To hug you tight and to look deep into your eyes
Day after day I think about our memories
Weeks after weeks I dream the two of us in bliss
Months after months I go lovesick longing for your kiss
Come home to me, that's all I wish
It's so hard, without you I feel empty
I can't keep the pain inside of me
I'm wondering, how many candles do I need to blow
Before I could finally see you again and hug you
I'm not asking for any luxurios presents
I don't want a branded shoes nor a perfume with lovely scents
I don't want a huge cake with candles to blow
All i want for my birthday is you

Hi Connie Angel - I hope I'm not too late! A beautifully structured poem written in free verse but with rhythm and flow - a delight to read. I score it a TEN (unable to record but the thought was there!) V 1 - We all experience this Angel - the one we really love not there when we need them most! V 2 - A whole year - who is this guy to leave a beautiful romantic girl like you waiting so so long. V 3 Memories - lovesick - longing to be kissed 'Come home to me tha's all I wish! '. V 4 gets worse 'It's so hard - How many more candles? - Longing for a hug'. 'All I want for my birthday is you'. That last lines ays it all - all the memories - all the pathos - all the waiting. You have let us into your heart Connie - we all love you and rust and pray that by next birthday he will turn up and the waiting will be over! . Great emotional love poem - excellent.
