A Big Story Poem by Sofia Moreno

A Big Story

Life is a big story
And every good story
Has others deep within
The secret lies in knowing
The ways each starts
And who ends them.

Now that the storytelling time begins
The kids gather around
Expecting in their innocence
The special moment, the climax!
When is the prince kissing her?
When is he going to save her?

The beautiful princess lies still in
Eternal slumber and pain…
Will she be saved?

But this is my story and no such things happen
They look at me, disdained
For them, the magic fades away
And,
However, hidden somewhere,
The characters still live
New stories are told, and
Characters come and go.

But someone needs saving
And someone is asleep
Someone is in pain
And no magic is left.
