A Belloc Ii Poem by Morgan Michaels

A Belloc Ii

Tell no one that you love them
Or never so they hear
Tell them you're autistic
Tell them that you're queer
They'll sympathize, my dear,
But never, never, hear,

Tell some one that you love them
It's not a good idea
They'll come to think they own you
As does a brook the sea
Oh, misery and woe foresee
When once you've said so, so,

Tell no one that you love them
Lest days of peace you miss
Be compensated amply by
The items on a list:
'Do that, do this, do this,
But first a little kiss'.

Tell no one that you love them
Or end up in a zoo
Tell no one that you love them
And even though you do
Even though it's true,
Don't, I'm telling you.
