A Bed On The Water Poem by RIC BASTASA

A Bed On The Water

a bed floats in the middle of the river
you swim
to catch sleep

the bed is taken by the rage of the river
on a flood that rises
up to your chin

you sleep on the water
the cruel bed is gone
the rage of the river subsides
there is peace now
among the lilies
