9/11 Poem by marcia woods

9/11

Tuesday, the eleventh,2001, our country was struck by the act of someone
We waited in shock as destruction took place
And saw all the heartache and pain on each face
The innocent suffered and lives sadly lost
No one can imagine the despair this had cost
Cowards proclaim the success of attack
But our people stay strong and we will fight back
We search for survivors and brave who have fought
And vow and proclaim these dastards be caught
Our allies unite to share all our grief
For the innocent taken by an unscrupulous thief
Though damage be done our spirits stay high
We're harmed and we're hurt but our faith will not die
We'll rise to the challenge armed by our care
No one will escape no matter where
America, Americans, we stand side by side
No one can shake our passion or destroy our pride
We'll seek and we'll find and we'll never give in
We're a country of courage and we will win!

............truly it was an unforgettable and heartbreaking day....how could another human being be so heartless and attack others in such a cowardly fashion...truly I feel there was a special place reserved for them on the other side....
