#89 For My Lover Poem by Medusa Waves

#89 For My Lover

Rating: 3.5

orpheus played my heart
he played it slow and sad- like art
he did not feel for me; but to woo my sins
his tune was high like violins
my heart was struck, and fell like birds
nothing remained of me, no sense of words
orpheus was not a good man, he forced my soul
he left me quick and i paid the toll
Pluto was the name of his child ill born
his appearance shocked, a tail and horn
Yet i owed my love to thee, but orpheus knew nothing of me
His son was bitter and killed his man
his song was low as it began
his lost song was a call to thee-
to leave to the sky and to rid of me
