74 - When You Sing That Chorus

When you sing that chorus
The one with the meaningful line
I look into the crowd
And see an army of faces that shine

When you sing that chorus
The one with the message of love
I look up to the rafters
Seeing angels floating above

People dying on the ground
People missing lost not found
Bombs tearing up their home
Spending Christmas on their own
No warmth or food for them to eat
Living life on the street

But when you sing that chorus
It reminds us that we’re all the same
When you sing that chorus
It washes the fear and the pain

Labels scratch away at our heart
The right to be who we want to be
Colour of our skin doesn’t matter
What’s on the inside is what we should see
For hope and love is what we’ve got
And the dream that our minds conceive
That tomorrow will get better
For this is all we have to believe

So the people dying on the ground
We’ll lift safely out of the war
The missing we’ll bring home
To the life they had before
Bringing Christmas to the lonely
We’ll fill their stockings with hope and love
Trading the bombs for food and shelter
From the rain and the dark clouds above

When you sing that chorus
The one with the meaningful line
I look into the crowd
And see an army of faces that shine

When you sing that chorus
The one with the message of love
I look up to the rafters
Seeing angels floating above

But when you sing that chorus
It reminds us that we’re all the same
When you sing that chorus
It washes the fear and the pain
