66 - Fake Poem by nicola burkett

66 - Fake

Rating: 4.7

In a binding contract
I signed at puberty
I'm allowed to be
In a constant state of misery
Locked up in my head
10 emotions I medically take
Choosing which one
Today I want to fake
My face perceived
By those misconceptions
The child of my pain
Is mass deception
Always the same
At night I lie awake
Wondering which mood
Next i want to fake
My heart lies unused
And never open
From fear of being abused
Beaten and broken
Locked up in my head
10 emotions I medically take
choosing which one
Today I want to fake
I follow pain
Walking in the wrong direction
Hating those
Who ooze perfection
I stand by the contract
I willingly signed
Thinking i'm the way
God had designed
