It took you all that time,
and I could never get you off my mind.
I stared at old photographs,
slept in that shirt you left.
And nobody knew it but me.
Everyday I'd wipe my tears away,
each night I'd pray you'd come back here to stay.
I tried to prove,
you were all that matter to me.
I said all those things I kept inside,
maybe that's what made you hide.
My friends thought I had moved on.
But here's the truth,
I was never really that strong.
I kept every word you said,
in a box underneath my bed.
Nobody knew it but me.
Then one summer day,
we found our way and you came back to stay.
Now that we're happy together,
don't you see it too?
We're all we'll ever need,
me and you.
