6 Feet Under
There is a poem
that is 6 feet under
buried in a box
a box that holds
a symbol of love
a person
we all knew
an uncle
that I loved
somebody who suffered greatly
I wrote a small poem
never to be printed
to go with him, and always be there
a worldly shell of a man.
never to be forgotten
laid to rest
with a poem
clutched in his hand.
in memory of Uncle Marty 1949-2009
