(503) We Are One

Rating: 3.4

We were put on this earth for many reasons
To enjoy every moment, every hour, every day, every season.
To do the very best that we can do.

To love and respect each other for who we are, not the colour of our skin, the amount of money in our pockets or the shapes and heights of our bodies.

We are of no difference except for the colours and shades of our skin. Let that not hold us back, let life unfold and new
precious days begin. Oh yes we are from different religious
backgrounds, do we not all pray to the same God with the exception of a few.

Look beyond the surface of others, realize there’s a heart and
soul beneath our exterior, an abundance of beauty that lives within.
Face the facts, when we are cut, do we not bleed the same.
Blood has only one colour, and we all share that same colour,
red.

We all have one heart, two lungs, two kidneys, we
produce the same. We are all equal in the eyes of God, why
not equal in each other’s eyes as well.

We must all learn to live together in harmony, become the sisters and brothers we were meant to be.
Don’t say it would be nice if it were possible, only you can make it happen. A positive response would be more effective, all races can be of one collective.

Together we can change the world, holding hands around the globe, we can stand firm and speak out without being afraid of
repercussions.

Life here on earth is short, we can make it worthwhile by not fighting and taking up valuable time. We can make good choices, the choice to make peace, to learn to know and love each other, the choice to be thankful for what we have been given.

We have been given so many gifts from our heavenly Father, yet we do not recognize them, our prayers have been answered sometimes immediately, but we don’t hear nor see. Some of us
live in our own little world full of complaints and darkness not
allowing the light to enter. We create our own problems, we
allow ourselves to live in deep, dark depression and won’t seek
help. When will some of us realize we are in charge of our own
destiny and with the help of the Lord and accepting Jesus in our lives, the brightest light will shine upon us.

We are one, created by one God who gave his one son to die for us one time on the cross so that we, the children of God could live. We are one under one umbrella, living in one
universe, on one earth, we will die one death and once we meet our maker and face the book of truth, with His love, understanding and forgivness, may we live on in paradise and enjoy everlasting life.

Come together my sister’s and brother’s, live, laugh and love.
Work together to create peace among all human kind. Enjoy
each other, embrace each other and most of all love each
other.

Melvina, yes we are one race and one kind, under the love of the divine, but yet we are still but children to his eyes, always fighting and always looking to Deride and divide, thinking one is more right, but like you say all equal in gods sight... Andy 10

This write of yours, Melvina is right on time when, some of us here in PH are pointing one finger to somebody, without knowing that the three fingers are pointing back at him..Some of us here in PH were brokenhearted because other supposed to be THE GREAT POET, EXCELLENT AND POWERFUL POET were laughing at the mistakes of their English grammars, This message is powerful, Melvina, as i would like this to address those poets who are not kind in their comments..Is this kind of loving each other? Being kind is a shortcut to heaven, yet some of us are not. But the good news is, they are only a FEW. in this site. Poets are supposed to be kind as they write their piece straight from their heart. We must hold hands together to make a difference in this world, to make our lives better to please the Lord, as we only pass this way but once., as we continue our life's journey, until God will take us to our permanent home.Thank you, Melvina, it's an inspiring one, indeed, and i hope it pierces to the hearts of the others..i love you very much, and i care for you... Love, Meggie

I agree that we should reach out and touch souls with our fellow poets without regard to race, color, or culture. Beautiful write, Melvina. Always your friend at poemhunter, Sandra

Powerful message. It is remarkable that no matter where you go on this planet, all the people share common feelings, common cares, common yearnings, etc. Reading these poems on PH is proof of that. Only one God - infinite. No wonder there are so many ways to view him/her. God made us all the same and all different. The same so that we can share, different so that we have something to give and recieve. God created us human. Our goal should be to become as human as possible. 'What we are is God's gift to us, what we become is our gift to God.' (through one another and to one another)

Mel, I so heartedly agree with you we should reach out and touch the souls of everyone who may cross our path. We should never rebuff those who may not have had the education that we've had, but to try and help them in the best way that we can. Race, colour, creed or culture hold no barriers to me as we are all equal as far as I'm concerned. If someone ever needs my help, then I will be there for them. This is a wonderful worded poem. Top marks and thanks for sharing it with us. David
