.5. Vending Time Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Vending Time

In our world of non-stop spending
Live machines designed for vending
Press the buttons message sending
Put your card in now its bending

Vending, vending never ending
Made to help increase our spending
Pressed for soup and tea its sending
Not the drink I was intending

Smart machine with patent pending
Read the numbers I am sending
Special codes to aid you’re blending
Press more buttons it’s unending

Vending, vending never ending
Pay a pound for trolley lending
Chocolate bars for hunger fending
Cigarettes to smoke intending

Can of coke my arm extending
Took my coin but isn’t vending
Give a shake I’m not pretending
One swift kick and you’ll need mending

Super piece David. Well done. From a fellow Yorkshire man!
