.5. A Simple Wordsmith Poem by David Threadgold

.5. A Simple Wordsmith

I’m just a simple wordsmith
Who likes to play with word
I write about the things I see
Or often things I’ve heard

Idea’s come from anything
They happen anytime
Then I play around a bit
Until I make them rhyme

When I get up in the morning
There’s something on the news
To trigger off the wordsmith
And rhyming word pursues

At times it can be awkward
Like when I go to bed
It give s me trouble sleeping
With words stuck in my head

So I have a simple method
As soon as I start yawning
I write down all the words that stuck
And start again next morning
