.4. Old Style Holidays Poem by David Threadgold

.4. Old Style Holidays

Seaside and cockleshells
Blue skies and golden sun
Wet sand with ripples on
Donkey riding so much fun

Salty chips with vinegar
In soggy paper wraps
Ice cream drips through fingertips
Make all those funny snaps

Both shoes hung around your neck
Laces tied up tight
Trousers rolled up to your knees
Paddling while the sun shines bright

Tired eyes and aching limbs
Caused by so much play
Off to beds for sleepy heads
On their summer holiday
