.4. Next-Doors Cat Poem by David Threadgold

.4. Next-Doors Cat

Rating: 5.0

I’m painting a picture
Of our neighbours cat
On a large sheet of paper
Because it’s quite fat

It’s jet black with white bits
Two eyes green and red
One badly mauled ear
On the left of his head

I sketched in the outline
It’s strange wonkey tail
Caused jumping off fence
Getting caught on a nail

Having coloured it in
Made its red eye much richer
To scare off the mice
It’s one hell of a picture
