326 Poem by RIC BASTASA

the sweeteness
lies
when the two of us
simply wish
upon a single star

when we look forward
in the same
direction to one sky
no matter
how dark

when we wish
for the moon
to shine
upon us

when we do not have
time
to look for the speck
of dust in each
other's eye

when we close our eyes
and dream
we we lose ourselves
in us
without asking why
