#317 Jill Virginia Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#317 Jill Virginia

This may be difficult to write,
Maybe the hardest one yet.
Somehow I’ll attempt to unite
Frail lines into a duet;
In hopes these feeble words just might
Be words you’ll never forget.
Now enough introduction, here is the start,
An account of the feelings straight from my heart:

Jill, “you know you have a fat butt! ”
What a classic tale we share.
“How boring! ” said that crazy nut
As she briefly paused to stare.
Whether day or night, no matter what,
We find laughter everywhere.
Laughter might very well be the foundation
Of our friendship, which is love’s origination.

I often think of our first date,
It was quite a lovely mess.
It wasn’t perfect, but still great,
Rather brilliant, nothing less.
We seemed to click like it was fate,
You caught me off guard, I confess.
If we based our future together off that night,
I’m sure in the end we’ll be more than alright.

One thing at a time, day by day,
We built a love rare and true.
Giving a little, making way,
We help each other get through.
Now I can wholeheartedly say
I fell much in love with you.
Music began, flowers grew where thorns had been,
And colours highlighted my world once again.

Who knows what the future will bring,
What will come and what will go.
Winter may not give way to spring,
Summer’s breeze may refuse to blow,
And autumn’s leaves might tightly cling
But this much I surely know:
I need you nearby til my days here are through,
And I’d love to spend forever beside you.

So?
