#285 Soon Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#285 Soon

Soon the sun will fade.
Soon the wind will blow.
Soon the stars will shine.
Soon we’ll see the glow
Of a million dots of snow.

Soon the clouds will come.
Soon the storm will begin.
Soon the rain will fall.
Soon we’ll have damp skin
Where dryness had been.

Soon we’ll pick a new place.
Soon we’ll run for cover.
Soon we’ll share half-love.
Soon we’ll both discover
In ourselves an avid lover.

Soon we’ll beg forgiveness.
Soon we’ll be chided away.
Soon the shame will fade.
Soon one of us will betray
And begin the decay.

Soon we’ll be mended.
Soon all will be well.
Soon we’ll replant seeds.
Soon flowers will swell
From the ground where we dwell.

Soon it’ll be a memory.
Soon we’ll have lessons to keep.
Soon we’ll know we’re dreaming.
Soon we’ll wake from a deep
And utmost pleasant sleep.
