#268 (A Little) Advice

I don’t know who will take it
But still I’m gonna give.
I’m not sure who could use it;
Here’s my advice by which to live:

Stay a little longer while you are there.
Read a little clearer while you get to read.
Talk a little tenderer when you want to talk.
Cry a little easier if you need to cry.
Heal a little faster if you should break.
Hold a little tighter while you’re holding on.

Smile a little wider if you get the chance to smile.
Laugh a little louder when you can’t help laugh.
Dance a little closer when you get to dance.
Sing a little sweeter when you hear your song.
Walk a little slower while you’re beneath the moon.
Count a little higher if you’re counting stars.

Whisper a little quieter when you say those words.
Embrace a little stronger when you embrace.
Kiss a little softer when you taste those lips.
Love a little deeper when you feel that love.
Say goodbye a little later if you must depart.
Come home a little sooner when you are gone.

You’ll never know when it’s over,
Until you’ve reached the end.
You’ll never know it was the last time,
Until it never happens again.
