26 Years Poem by Robert Sheridan

More than just numbers
More than just a period
of time
More than just seconds,
minutes and hours
But rather like a picture
or photo unfrozen in the
mind - colors shown in
both good and bad
Both caused me to cry
Not always wanting to
revive the facts
But why is it that the
pleasures are swept
away, while the bad
seem to stay?
Maybe, just maybe if
I keep on crying, the
tears will wash away
another 26 years...
