2009/05 Inbetweenness

Inbetweenness
Its not a word but I copyright this
I'm sure its been thought of before
Probably spelled out before but
Its mine
I understand it and feel it and am it
Presently I own it
I feel somewhere between yesterday and tomorrow
But not today
Days are jumping ahead weeks at a time
Memories of us are quickly becoming distanced from here
Traces of your touch are washing away with each bath
Glass balls of fake snow capture moments we've had
I walk around my mind and shake the many of them alive
Spread them out to rid empty spaces
Leave no room for new faces
Yet I start to make the moon my new sun
To avoid the Me that walks in daytime
Unaccompanied by you
Since I've associated love songs
W/ the things you do
The way you move
The things we've said
And the looks we gave
Passion built like bricks forming a wall
Around my emotions for protection
Even with a foundation
Your wrecking ball made irreparable damage
You have no intentions of fixing
I've had to move on
But this existence
Isn't making much sense
Food loses taste mid-chew
A single tear falls only in showers to fool myself
That it doesn't exist for you
Because this inbetweenness
Doesn't allow but for a random frown on one end
And on the other, a desire to seek higher happiness
