1999 Poem by Victor Osorio

1999

Rating: 3.7

Standing in front of a house
A place where I grew
Watching people around
The girl I once knew
Those days are gone
Never again here
Playing the tired song
My senior year
Open doors became a path
Fearful for myself
They recognized my silent laugh
Little was known, little was heard
It's the nothing I've become
Forgetting what occured
Today carries a keepsake of it
Yesterday is gone, today is gone
Still they talk about the boy
It's the artist I've become
They read my creations
It brings comfort to some.
