1963 Poem by Morgan Michaels

1963

From a cardboard carton
Father lifted a TV
color had recently come in-
1963 it was.

'Round in amaze we crowded
watching color bloom on screen
(the world its carousal, clearly)
yellow, pink and green.

Lastly, out the box, largely unseen,
rose the Future,
Hope-like, or like a gesture-
golden-pink and green.
