165 Poem by Morgan Michaels

165

Don Juan, trolling out to sea
caught in his seasoned net
the monstrous 'nyet' of all women,
that towed to shore,
and rolled in a ball
he pegged over the horizon' wall
where it fell
exploding with a terrible and deafening
BANG!
Keen to see the havoc wrought
he ran to the horizon's wall
and peaking over, saw
to his astonishment
a lovely, sunlit garden,
thick with crabs and hanging pears;
sprinkled with dews and plied
by birds and butterflies;
Entering, mystified,
he leaned against a tree
pulled a pear from off a bough
and biting it soundly, slowly chewed
enjoying its warmth and flavor.
