Would you walk with me through the park
would you enjoy listening to
the sound of birdsong
coming from the bushes beside the path
Would you hold my hand
just to let the whole world know
that I'm your only boy
and you're my only girl
Would you enjoy the feel of the sun,
shining on both our faces,
as we walk through grassy fields
enjoying each other's company
You know I would do these things for you
and I hope you'd do the same for me
let us treasure our moments together
and look forward to when we can be forever
and your my only girl ........oops! you're oh! brian johnston finally discovered you. he has some good stuff too, as well as running his monthly Challenge poem writing contest. but he too could use some work on his contractions! ha! :) don't get too distracted by him though. he pays too much attention to his nemesis, Merov. he craves attention, or so it seems sometimes, but i like him and he has a good heart like you do. :) bri - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - another fine poem, describing a simple, somewhat idyllic relationship. of course if you give her a ring, she will start to expect more..............house, car, baby, gifts of all kinds! :) and look forward to when we can be forever ...............i was tempted to ask: forever what? BUT i like it just the way you wrote it. nice. thanks for sharing. bri :)
Yes love can really be this simple I think, though it is not often we (the walking wounded) find the courage to trust that it is so. The first poem of yours I have read John. I was drawn here by your voice of moderation and reason on the PH forum pages which I also visited today for the first time. I will be back to your poetry for more though. Forum pages were somewhat harsh for my taste however. Can't we all just get along?
Clawdea, what a nice name.wish it will come true...walk through the park and grow old together.
