11/26/08 Poem by Vishal Kadrekar

These 2 days and 3 nights will remain etched in everyone's memory,
10 men came and shot at random, their acts so dastardly.
Smell of death rented the air,
As these heartless men didn't even spare the hospitals, so innocents won't receive medical care.
The 100-year-old palace, the pearl of everyone’s eyes,
Turned into an inferno in the black night sky.
It definitely wasn't a Holy War, when they killed a Jewish priest,
High on drugs, these merciless men behaved even worse than a beast.
Money can't replace the deaths of men who lost their lives in acts of bravery,
Politicians definitely need to think a bit more sanely.
In the name of religion, a lost rationality,
Have we for forgotten we belong to the race of humanity?
