08 - A Forgotten Graveyard

Rating: 5.0

To the hollow sward of the burial ground
Is where the perished souls can be found
The wind howls through the primeval trees
As the stench of death wafts in the breeze
The graveyard at night for the living is closed
As the dead slumber in the land of decomposed
Like healed wounds the earth surround the gravestones
That reminisce the rotting flesh and bones
Headstones once white as the bones they name
Now lie broken as a declaration of their shame
No flowers or birds are found breathing near
For it’s just the departed that will ever lie here
