071010A flash on my mind

sudden coldness touch my skin
i saw clock it's barely pass eleven
pulled sheets for comfort; relax
so quiet besides hums from attic
i wiggled my toes; i feel walking
i give it up i rather be sleeping

moment i thought about octopus
could it be, he has been coached
whatever it is, it's amazing choice
paula and paul are names today
one for us open; one for world cup
not favorable for lance; bye france

***
paula creamer won lpga us open
paul (octopus) predicted spain victory in world cup
lance armstrong crashed on 8th stage tour de france
(it's over for him; just too far out of contention)

Poem of the Day

poet Katharine Lee Bates

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
