i am on bridge early morning
watching low tide flowing to sea
i am so excited watching fishes
crabs are so many i can't count
from baseball to as big as palm
some are molting to shiny skin
minnows are thick school; a prey
easily pick by flying diving birds
feeding frenzy; attack from top
and also from bottom; hungry fish
meat pieces pick by bottom dwellers
a giant pelican; a flying scooper
***
i should pity minnows
but that's their purpose
