032710g Talking Parrots

i smell perfume very, very familiar
i took a deep breathe i'm refresh
so powerful it took me to its claws
i have to stop to see who's wearing
but i'm not that lucky nobody ever did
maybe recurring moment from my mind

i pass by the cafeteria to get juice
mango-pineapple with mint flavor
i sit beneath the old banyan tree
it covers almost a city house lot
there are bird's cage hanging
filled with south american parrots

one of 'em 'where's your girlfriend'
i said 'she's swimming by herself'
another ' are you kamaaina or haule'
i said 'neither i just came for the lei'
another 'liar you have hawaiian shorts'
i said 'i traded my pants at swap meet'

***
kamaaina - islander
haule- white
