031610i Taking Care Of Mom

little girl is practicing how to write
the first she drew is a big heart
her dad came ask her what's that
she giggles and points her dad

went to kindergarten learn to draw
came home with drawing for two
her dad came ask her what's that
she giggles and stretch her hand
she got hug, kiss and ice cream

went to grade school learn how to sing
came home singing 'mary has little lamb'
her dad wasn't home for a long time
she wrote 'dad, i'm tired of my mom
she won't listen, doesn't care about my exam'
dad wrote ' i love you, take care of your mom'

went to college came in tow, visited her
one or two for so many moons through
they shop, go to church and dine too
watch movie drove up and down I-64
done college, got a job close by, great
dad ask, she said 'taking care of mom'
